About The Position

The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture. Summary The Zones Sales Planner supports annual sales, volume, and margin goals by equipping the regional sales team with effective planning tools. Acting as a key liaison between the field and internal teams, the planner manages communications, business opportunities, and general requests to ensure smooth execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) from 4-year college or university
  • 3-5 years of sales experience preferred
  • Strong partnering skills, with the ability to effectively influence peers and more senior sales professionals
  • Proven organizational skills with demonstrated ability to effectively work across boundaries
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation and verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and turn into actionable business solutions
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs and Sales Reporting Systems
  • Up to 10% domestic travel required

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Sales leaders to establish market plans for each field sellers in their assigned geography, review and refresh quarterly.
  • Ensure plan is consistent with the business and category strategies and specific sales initiatives (e.g., commercial chains, non-commercial initiatives, priority segments, and corporate account key initiatives).
  • Effectively partner with cross-functional departments to aggregate, translate and disseminate strategy and supporting information into actionable tactics for Sales to achieve their respective business objectives.
  • Coordinate, collect and provide analysis for general Zone execution including, but not limited to, Customer Relationship Management metrics, Sales Incentive Plan tracking, New Product Development execution, etc.
  • Ensure effective utilization of sales technology platforms (i.e. Salesforce, PowerBI, etc)
  • Provide exceptional support to field sales forecasting for normal business gains and losses and targeted promotional efforts.
  • Provide exceptional field sales input to marketing for the development of relevant marketing initiatives.
  • Partner with marketing to ensure internal systems are maximized and contain updated and relevant field sales information.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting as requested.
