About The Position
The Zone Maintenance role is a critical position within the Hallmark Liberty Distribution Center, specifically designed for the 3rd shift, which operates from Sunday to Thursday, 10 PM to 6 AM. This full-time position involves a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the facility while ensuring efficient processing of materials. The primary responsibility includes breaking down domestic and import cartons and cubes, which are then placed in the appropriate bin locations or compactors. The role requires the ability to recognize and determine which corrugate materials can be reused versus those that should be discarded, thereby supporting the recycling efforts of the company. In addition to sorting and organizing materials, the Zone Maintenance employee is responsible for filling storage racks with corrugate to facilitate order processing. The position also involves emptying recycle barrels from processing zones into gaylords and placing full trash barrels at the end of each zone for pickup. A significant part of the daily activities includes operating a baler, which involves tying and ejecting finished bales, as well as using a pallet jack to transport assembled cubes to designated aisles or compactors. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment is paramount in this role. Employees are expected to sweep and clean assigned zones, aisles, and areas surrounding compactors on a daily basis. Identifying high-volume areas and ensuring they are kept to a standard that promotes safety and cleanliness is also a key responsibility. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to perform various tasks that involve standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and lifting materials throughout the shift.
