About Your Role: As a Director, Zone Asset Protection at Dollar Tree, you’ll lead asset protection strategy and execution across a large, multi-district retail zone while developing a high-performing team of Asset Protection leaders. Through strong partnerships with field leadership, data-driven insights, and hands-on field engagement, you’ll help protect company assets, reduce shrink, and strengthen operational discipline across the business. Your day-to-day job duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Leadership & Team Development: • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Asset Protection Managers across the assigned Zone • Actively participate in the hiring, onboarding, performance management, and development of direct reports • Evaluate overall job performance and provide ongoing feedback, mentoring, and career development support • Promote consistent application of Asset Protection standards, investigative protocols, and ethical practices Asset Protection Strategy & Execution: • Direct the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of shrink reduction, cash control, and asset protection programs • Monitor daily routines, investigations, shrink control initiatives, and reporting completed by Asset Protection Managers • Serve as the primary point of contact for all Asset Protection issues within the Zone • Provide guidance and support on complex integrity and internal investigations Field Partnership & Business Collaboration: • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with Regional Directors, District Managers, and the Zone Vice President • Partner with field leadership to identify operational risks and opportunities to improve store conditions and performance • Elevate significant concerns related to store conditions, shrink, or management performance to senior field leadership when warranted • Facilitate monthly shrink and asset protection review calls with District Managers and Regional Directors Analytics, Audits & Reporting: • Monitor, analyze, and follow up on inventory and cash loss trends using predictive tools and dashboards (e.g., XBR, Shrink Dashboard, Business Reports) • Translate data into actionable insights to reduce shrink and mitigate risk • Plan, administer, and conduct audits to identify vulnerabilities, create awareness, and ensure compliance • Develop and deliver presentations for field leadership and Asset Protection meetings Risk Management & Compliance: • Partner with Risk Management to provide on-site support during violations of federal or state regulations or in response to unusual losses • Ensure timely, accurate, and complete reporting of incidents and investigations to Corporate Asset Protection • Maintain compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and investigative best practices

Requirements

  • 10+ years of Asset Protection or Loss Prevention experience in a multi-unit retail environment
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience, managing Asset Protection Managers or equivalent field leadership roles
  • Demonstrated success leading shrink reduction, investigations, audits, and compliance initiatives
  • Wicklander Certification (or equivalent investigative interviewing training)
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using Asset Protection systems and Case Management Software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory up to 60% of the time
