About The Position

Zingerman’s Sandwich Line is a high-volume kitchen with great energy. We make a lot of sandwiches—and we have a lot of fun doing it! Line Cooks are responsible for preparing and cooking sandwiches to order, expediting accurately and efficiently, and keeping stations clean and stocked. We slice our bread to order, serve our meat hot and fresh, and care deeply about teamwork, communication, and consistency. Shifts are typically 8–9 hours between 9am–8pm. Weekend availability is required.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of professional kitchen experience (high-volume experience preferred)
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Work with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Take ownership and responsibility for their station and tasks
  • Be seeking a long-term role (2+ years) and opportunities for growth
  • Show up on time, every time, ready to contribute
  • Work calmly under pressure and support teammates with respect

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food accurately and efficiently following our recipes and standards
  • Keep stations stocked, clean, and running smoothly
  • Communicate clearly with teammates and managers
  • Handle a high volume of work for extended periods while maintaining quality
  • Uphold food safety standards and best practices
  • Contribute ideas and energy to continually improve our kitchen systems and culture
