About The Position

The Zerto Presales Engineer will act as a technical expert and trusted advisor, supporting customers and partners in evaluating, implementing, and optimizing cloud data management and disaster recovery solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud and datacenter technologies, including VMWare, Azure, AWS, and GCP, to effectively demonstrate product capabilities and design solutions that address complex business challenges. Working primarily in a remote and dynamic environment, the engineer will lead technical presentations, proofs of concept, and solution validation, collaborating closely with sales, product, and technical teams. The role emphasizes proactive customer engagement, solution design, and technical leadership to ensure a seamless and valuable customer experience. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, customer-facing roles and enjoy combining technical expertise with strategic business insight.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of presales engineering or similar customer-facing experience, ideally in software or data center environments
  • Strong technical knowledge in cloud data management, backup, and disaster recovery solutions
  • Proficiency in datacenter and cloud architecture (VMWare, Azure, AWS, GCP, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable delivering technical content to C-level executives
  • Self-motivated, autonomous, and able to thrive in a remote work environment
  • Ability to manage multiple customer interactions, demos, and follow-ups in a fast-paced setting
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field

Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and solution overviews to prospective customers and partners
  • Lead live and virtual customer meetings, addressing technical inquiries and demonstrating product capabilities
  • Qualify sales opportunities by evaluating customer technical requirements, competition, decision-making processes, and funding
  • Implement and manage proofs of concept (POCs) through technical closure
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Zerto solutions, proposing designs that align with customer business and technology needs
  • Collaborate with internal teams and product management to communicate customer requirements and drive solution improvements
  • Support lead generation initiatives, including webinars, user groups, and events, while promoting solution value
