UT Resource Recovery is looking for interns to support zero waste efforts at Texas Orientation by helping incoming students properly sort waste and learn about campus waste diversion practices. Additional tasks contribute to broader Zero Waste projects and outreach initiatives. Applicants must be available for two 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. shifts M-W. Resource Recovery is a department within UT Facilities Services that encompasses both Zero Waste and Surplus Property. Resource Recovery is tasked with improving sustainability at UT, specifically with regards to reaching our Zero Waste goal to keep 90% of all materials out of the landfill. Major diversion strategies include reduction, reuse, recycling, and composting. The Resource Recovery Student Internship Program welcomes students of all majors and degrees to get hands-on experience with project management and waste reduction.
