About The Position

Oregon Ice Cream seeks a Zero Box Tech 1, responsible for consolidating the individual units of finished products on a pallet for proper storage. Ensure that product is properly stacked on pallets by following the designated pallet patterns, minimizing or avoiding over-hang, stacking cases straight, stacking cases without leaning, cross-tying tiers, as required. Transport pallets with a pallet-jack in Track Room.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 months’ experience in a manufacturing facility. Food manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to become certified and effectively use Forklift and Pallet Jack; previous experience preferred.
  • Communication skills are a must. Ability to communicate (verbal/writing) effectively at all levels with all people.
  • Ability to multi-task while remaining calm and working effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of weight and volume measurements.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Great people skills and passionate about food and ice cream.

Responsibilities

  • Visually inspect prior to stacking for unsealed cases, damaged cases, stained cases, and cases with illegible, incorrect, or missing code dates.
  • Complete required documentation for labeling and Daily Palletizing Report.
  • Ability to communicate with operators, leads and supervisors on type of product being produced.
  • Ensuring the proper print codes on all cartons for tractability.
  • Ensuring master case is being printed and sealed.
  • Responsible for monitoring the equipment and informing machine operators or maintenance of problems.
  • Must follow safety rules, GMPs and company guidelines.
  • Ability to follow color code to prevent cross contamination.
  • Work in a fast pace, repetitive environment. Must be able to package products at the speed the line equipment is running.
  • Work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated.
  • Follow established SOP’s and verbal work instructions; participate in a safe and respectful work environment.
  • Maintain food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining work areas in a sanitary manner.
  • Report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Participate in food safety training.
  • Collaboratively perform other duties as needed and directed to support the goals of the company.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English effectively.
