Position Summary The position of Zamboni Driver is responsible for the ice rink, proper safe operation of the ice resurfacer (Zamboni), maintenance of all areas pertaining to and or involved in maintaining a quality sheet of ice for a professional hockey team. The Zamboni Driver will report to the Operations Manager. This role will pay an hourly rate of $16 to $18. Benefits for PT roles: 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching. About the Venue The Tahoe Blue Event Center is a premier sports and live entertainment facility and is proudly managed by OVG. The Tahoe Blue Event Center is located in the Stateline, Nevada area of South Lake Tahoe, between the peaks of Heavenly Mountain Resort and beautiful Lake Tahoe. The multi-purpose sports & entertainment venue opened in September 2023 and has flexible arena space for concerts, comedians, family shows, sporting events and more.

Requirements

A strong communicator: be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in written format to management and staff as well as to all types of clients

Advanced oral and written communication skills.

Strong orientation to customer service and ability to work with other staff members in the facility.
Prior experience driving a Zamboni machine required.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience with ice maintenance
Previous facility operations experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform general physical labor associated with set up and break down for events i.e. ice install, ice maintenance, glass repair, rink repair.
Make repairs as directed by the Operations Manager.
Operate a forklift truck.
Drive zamboni during hockey games maintaining the ice to AHL and/or NCAA standards.
Other duties as assigned.
