YREADS is a program working with at-risk and disadvantaged children in Kindergarten through third grade, regardless of their race, economic status, or capabilities, to increase their reading skills through structured after-school reading instructions and mentoring. Addendum for YREADS Program: 1. Assume responsibility when instructor is absent. 2. Assist in maintaining accurate organizational records and funding reporting requirements to remain compliance at all times. Job Summary: The Youth Development Specialist oversees the engagement and development of children participating in YMCA programs. They are responsible for implementing and facilitating enriching activities tailored to their assigned group, supporting the YMCA's mission to strengthen community bonds through positive interactions with members. Members encompass anyone with a current or potential relationship with the YMCA, including children, parents, staff, volunteers, community members, donors, and guests. This role is pivotal in creating a supportive and engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive within the YMCA community.
