About The Position

Sweetwater, the nation’s number one online retailer of music instruments and pro audio gear, is seeking a creative, driven, and gear-obsessed YouTube Shorts Creator to join our growing Marketing team! In this role, you will concept, produce, edit, and manage high-impact short-form video content designed specifically for YouTube Shorts — helping musicians discover products, learn faster, and engage with the Sweetwater brand in fresh and compelling ways. Working in close collaboration with the Director of Content Strategy, the YouTube Shorts Creator will identify which products, productions, and concepts should be supported by short-form content and determine the best creative approach for each. This role also works alongside long-form production teams to extract and optimize short-form moments from standard video shoots, while collaborating with Social Media to maximize cross-platform impact. This position is both strategic and hands-on. You’ll be behind the camera, in the edit bay, and frequently in front of the camera — creating performative, engaging, and educational content that reflects Sweetwater’s expertise and passion for music gear. The ideal candidate is a strong musician with deep product knowledge, a natural on-camera presence, strong editing instincts, and a relentless drive to improve content performance through testing and data. Requirements

  • High school diploma required, Bachelor's Degree in Music, Production, or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years playing, performing, or recording music
  • 3-5+ years of experience creating content (short-from storytelling formats)
  • Deep understanding of a wide range of musical instruments, recording equipment, and music technology platforms
  • Strong video editing skills and familiarity with short-form storytelling formats
  • Comfortable and compelling being on camera
  • Ability to manage multiple productions simultaneously while hitting tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt quickly to shifting product priorities, sample availability, and talent schedules
  • Creative problem-solving skills when working with limited resources, tight turnarounds, or embargoed products

Responsibilities

  • Concept, strategize, and storyboard YouTube Shorts in collaboration with he Director of Content Strategy and relevant stakeholders
  • Produce engaging YouTube Shorts featuring musicians, creators, and/or yourself as on-camera talent
  • Edit short-form video content and participate in creative reviews and feedback cycles
  • Manage the YouTube Shorts content calendar and production workflow
  • Coordinate with producers, creators, and studio teams to schedule shoots
  • Generate compelling copy and lightweight graphics optimized for YouTube Shorts
  • Collaborate with long-form production teams to identify and extract short-form opportunities
  • Partner with Social Media to determine cross-platform rollout strategies
  • Track, organize, and analyze performance data to continuously improve creative output
