About The Position

The Youth Transition Coordinator serves as a vital link between Maryland school systems and Penn-Mar, focusing on supporting individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. This role involves engaging clients in meaningful activities, assisting with technology, and ensuring compliance with regulations and organizational policies.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • AA degree and 2 years related experience required.
  • BA degree and 1-year related experience preferred.
  • Master's degree and 1-year related experience preferred.
  • Previous certifications in ACRE and CESP preferred.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain effective relationships with team members and supervisors.
  • Proficient interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Valid driver's license for 2 years and adherence to driving requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work as a positive role model and in a team environment.
  • Commitment to a respectful and collaborative work environment.
  • Flexibility in changing environments and work schedules.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and function well in a high-paced environment.
  • Experience or willingness to learn various software applications.

  • Support individuals in identifying and achieving their personal goals and dreams.
  • Facilitate informed decision-making through education and experience.
  • Conduct Assistive Technology assessments and promote its use for greater independence.
  • Encourage self-advocacy and participation in advocacy groups.
  • Foster healthy relationships among individuals and their support networks.
  • Connect individuals with community resources to enhance support.
