Youth Track Official Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department Recreation Division (Multiple Positions Available) EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: TEMPORARY/SEASONAL OPENS: January 6, 2026 CLOSES: Open until filled HOURS: 12–15 hours a week from March 23–May 9 SALARY: $17.13-18.00 per hour We are looking for friendly, energetic candidates who possess great customer service skills and enjoy working with people to be a part of our daily youth track meets! Under direct supervision of Recreation Coordinator, youth track official will be assigned weekly duties by the coordinator. Every official will receive training on the various positions throughout a track meet. Work hours are usually 3:30 p.m. -6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Working Conditions: Work is performed in a field environment; may be exposed to individuals who are difficult. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Stand for long periods of time and could experience moderate to severe weather conditions. Temporary employees with the City of Kent do not receive insurance or time off benefits outside of those which are legally mandated. In certain instances, temporary employees may be eligible for retirement benefits through the State of Washington's Department of Retirement Systems.
