About The Position

Youth Tennis Instructor Aide (Summer 2026) Expected Start Date: May 2026 Details Part Time (Part-time/Temporary/Seasonal Status), non-exempt Starts at $12.00/hour Reports to Recreation Supervisor- Youth Sports and Community Programming and receives work direction from Tennis Coordinator. Located at various tennis courts and parks in Eden Prairie. Position runs from May - August 2026, hours vary based on business need. Responsibilities The Youth Tennis Lesson Instructor Aide position assists the Youth Tennis Instructor in teaching tennis skills to youth ages five and older through summer instructional programs. The primary position responsibilities and areas of impact are: Assists the lesson instructor during lessons by monitoring and providing hands-on assistance to all class participants; assists in the development of skills and assists instructor with demonstrations and class participation. Ensures a safe, friendly and enjoyable atmosphere for all participants. Observes participants’ tennis performance to ensure development and satisfaction of all participants. Has clean and friendly communication skills with parents. Attends USTA Coaching workshop prior to start of the season. While these areas are the primary focus of this position, we believe strongly in teamwork and employees will be called upon to perform a variety of duties as a part of their role with the City.

Requirements

  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Must be a minimum of 14 years of age
  • One to six months experience in related field preferred.
  • This position requires the ability to lift/pull/push/move/carry up to 50 lbs, bend/stand/reach, and play tennis at a recreational level.
  • Must have the ability to travel to different locations during the assigned shift.
  • Candidates must successfully complete and pass the City’s evaluation of the pre-employment process prior to their first day of employment. Pre-employment processes for this position includes professional reference checks, background check, work verification.
