About The Position

In search of: Part-time youth sports scorekeeper - supports YMCA youth sports programming by assisting with game day operations, including scorekeeping, site supervision, and participant support. This position plays a key role in ensuring safe, organized, and positive experiences for youth, families, and volunteers. Ideal candidates enjoy sports, teamwork, and being part of a mission-driven organization.

Requirements

• Interest in sports and youth development
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work evenings and weekends
• Reliability and punctuality
• Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with light physical activity

Nice To Haves

• Prior sports or customer service experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Operate scoreboards and keep accurate game scores
• Assist with gym and equipment setup and breakdown
• Support coaches, officials, participants, and families during games
• Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and organized environment
• Communicate effectively with staff and supervisors
• Monitor facilities during evening and weekend programming
• Uphold YMCA policies, safety procedures, and good sportsmanship standards
• Other duties as assigned
