Youth Sports Official
About The Position
Under the supervision of the Sports Director or Coordinator, the Sports Official will be responsible for youth sports games in accordance with goals and philosophy of the YMCA. The Sports Official will provide a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Hiring for youth spring sports, Saturdays April 11th-May 16th. Flag Football, Soccer, and Volleyball. This job announcement is not intended to be inclusive of all functions, responsibilities and qualifications associated with the position, however, representative of the essential job functions and typical criteria considered necessary to successfully perform the position.
Requirements
- Knowledgeable of the sport they are officiating
- Must work well with children, parents, and coaches
- This person should have the ability to work and resolve conflict situations
- Certifications: CPR/FA, within 30 days of hire
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting all participants, maintaining a clean and safe facility and demonstrating professional conduct at all times
- Explain the rules to children, coaches and parents
- Be fair and consistent
- Prepare game field
- Conduct meeting with coaches and captains. Lead sports pledge
- Pick up trash and put equipment away after games
- Display good sportsmanship
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting all participants, maintaining a clean and safe facility and demonstrating professional conduct at all times
- Responds to challenges with possible solutions in a timely manner
- All other duties as requested
