About The Position

The mission of the Youth Specialist is “Helping Children and Families to be Victors.”

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Level 1 Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) endorsement for basic core skills
  • Completion of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) seminar provided by the agency, with ability to apply and perform CPI techniques
  • American Red Cross CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Valid Michigan driver and chauffeur license or ability to obtain chauffeur license

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and guide clients in a variety of daily activities, while arranging and controlling the physical surroundings in order to provide a healthy and safe environment
  • Recognize and manage individual treatment plans for clients with dignity and respect
  • Read all documented charts and/or logbooks at start of the shift and maintain documentation throughout the shift
  • Complete and submit all logs, reports, documentation, and assigned projects by end of shift
  • Participate/attend and complete all required contractual, licensing, and agency training successfully
  • Function as a mandated reporter, as required by Michigan Child Protection Law
  • Attend all required meetings
  • Other duties, as assigned
