This Role Matters This role carries responsibility. As a Youth Specialist, you are entrusted with the safety, supervision, and development of youth in residential care. Your Role You will: Supervise and guide youth throughout daily activities Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment Implement individualized treatment plans with consistency Model appropriate communication, behavior, and conflict resolution Monitor surroundings and intervene when necessary Review logs at the start of each shift Complete all documentation accurately before the end of shift Participate fully in required trainings and meetings Serve as a mandated reporter under Michigan Child Protection Law This role requires presence, awareness, and integrity. QualificationsThis Position Requires Strong Character You must be able to: Remain calm and professional during crisis situations Apply Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) techniques appropriately Maintain firm and appropriate boundaries Make safe decisions even when no one is watching Accept feedback and follow direction from supervisors Work assigned shifts, including evenings, weekends, or holidays We are looking for individuals who understand that working with vulnerable youth requires discipline, self-control, and ethical consistency.
