About The Position

The Youth Specialist position at Samaritas involves mentoring and providing direct care to refugee youth in a residential setting. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Valid unrestricted driver's license with a good driving record, proof of current registration, and automobile insurance required.
• Ability to learn de-escalation techniques and become CPR and first aid certified.
• Direct care experience in a mental health field or working with vulnerable adults preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Spanish bilingual skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of youth in a residential setting.
• Establish a family-like environment in the residence by modeling supportive behaviors and expectations.
• Assist youth in participating in daily schedules and routines, including meal preparation and medication administration.
• Develop independent skills and organize activities for the youth.
• Provide transportation for youth to appointments while adhering to safety rules.
• Monitor overnight activity at the home.
