About The Position

The Youth Social Worker will provide individual and group counseling to youth enrolled in our youth employment programs and collaborate with prescriber staff at the Community Consultation Center (CCC). The Social Worker will provide Mental Health outpatient treatment & rehabilitation services, conduct screenings of youth in our employment programs, coordinate referrals for mental health care at our nearby CCC, and carry a caseload of approximately 30 youth or young adults. We will also utilize a Youth Peer Specialist, who has lived experiences and can provide one-on-one support to youth and co-facilitate youth-led groups on relevant topics such as handling stress, trauma, dating, and more .

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree required; LMHC, LMSW or LCSW required; SIFI a major plus.
  • Bilingual a plus
  • Three or more years of experience in social services, youth development, or related field; Experience in non-profit preferred
  • Two or more years of experience providing individual counseling, group counseling, and case management with high barrier populations.
  • Ability to meet client engagement performance on a weekly basis.
  • Diverse cultural competence required.
  • Experience collaborating with OMH clinical and therapeutic professionals to support client success.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and FERPA regulated practices of data collection and management of client information.
  • Skillful usage of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Self-motivated with the ability to be resourceful, efficient, flexible, and effectively work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to fixed yet flexible schedule, i.e. available evenings, and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic clinical services for up to 30 young adults, averaging an engagement rate of at least 75% per week.
  • Must provide comprehensive assessments to determine best coordination of support that is trauma informed and healing centered for youth of various backgrounds.
  • Will supervise a Youth Peer Specialist and strategize on effective community engagement and program retention activities.
  • Will work independently and collaboratively with staff members across multiple programs and program sites to receive referrals with the intention of providing services accordingly.
  • Establish and maintain data for accurate reporting for OMH funders using the AWARDS database as well as other internal tracking systems in workforce development.
  • Ability to work in-person
  • Travel to other sites.
