About The Position

The Youth Soccer Coordinator will assist with overall program development of our Soccer for Success after-school programming. This includes, but is not limited to, facilitating practices, officiating scrimmages, and providing on-site leadership during practices and games. The Youth Soccer Coordinator will also provide guidance to Youth Soccer Instructors while in program

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of sports.
  • One or more years of experience working with children.
  • Strong customer service skills, responding to multiple questions via phone, email and in person. Ability to problem solve and resolve conflict.
  • Strong computer skills and experience working with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
  • Knowledge of standard office equipment, such as fax machines, copiers, and phone systems.
  • Current state approved first-aid certification.
  • Current state approved infant/child (or community if school aged) CPR certification.
  • At hire, or earliest possible training (but no later than 90 days after employment).

  • Other applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered.
  • Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical activity, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the delivery of culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate activities for assigned youth sports programs.
  • Assists in conducting staff meetings and trainings.
  • Provides guidance, leadership and direction to youth sports instructors, referees and volunteers as needed.
  • Professionally engages with parents/guardians to provide pertinent information about their child’s experience and to promote upcoming programs.
  • Ensures that supplies are clean and safe, set up and stored properly. Reports equipment problems to supervisor.
  • Attends staff meetings and trainings as required.
