Purpose: The goal of the program is to emphasize positive identity formation and desistance from offending behaviors through a collaborative and strengths-based approaches. The focus is to provide accessible, culturally relevant and trauma response programming to African American youth ages 10-17 living in North Minneapolis, Brooklyn Center, and Brooklyn Park. General Job Statement: The Youth Services department is a relational, innovative, and utilizing a transformative approach to hold youth and young adults accountable for their actions which have caused harm to others. The Case Manager collaborates with youth from referral to completion, conducts thorough assessments, intakes interviews, develops individualized goal plans, and coordinates restorative interventions such as mediation, circles, and victim-offender dialogue. This role requires maintaining detailed case documentation, tracking guest progress, and ensuring compliance with the goal plans and all agreements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, social work, or related field, and three (3) years of restorative justice or mediation related experience.
  • Associate degree with four (4) years of restorative justice or mediation related experience or a high school diploma with seven (7) years of restorative justice or mediation related experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience with restorative justice best practices, dynamics of offending, service to crime victims, corrections system, criminal justice system, and/or process of change.
  • Experience as a trainer and meeting facilitator with the ability to implement restorative justice related programs and facilitating/overseeing workshops.
  • Experience with initiating, organizing, creating reports, representing the department and the organization.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to meet Northpoint's driving standards.
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and computer client tracking databases.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and/or knowledge of Apricot and/or Basil is a plus.
