The Youth Services Case Manager (ASO2) position is responsible for providing case management to child abuse victims, truants, runaways, non-perpetrating families, and qualifying youth offenders. The role involves assessing family dynamics, referring youth and families to appropriate agencies, and maintaining consistent communication with Metro Nashville Public Schools and Juvenile Justice Center probation officers. This grant-funded position focuses primarily on the 37207 zip code and requires collaboration with police officers to address youth-related issues.

  • Provide community outreach to juveniles, parents, and guardians.
  • Provide case management to victims of crime as appropriate.
  • Refer youth or parents to appropriate agencies based on need.
  • Refer youth to FIP counseling staff.
  • Provide educational materials on victimization and community resources.
  • Assist with support groups for various victim populations.
  • Attend and coordinate community meetings.
  • Develop outreach and educational materials.
  • Represent MNPD/FIP at community events/programs/meetings.
  • Collaborate with/act as a liaison with agencies serving youth.
  • Initiate focus groups to identify barriers to communities accessing services.
  • Assume case management responsibilities and log daily assignments.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and maintain case records and reports.
  • Write statistical and narrative reports.
  • Propose alternatives to prevent offenses from recurring.
  • Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science (Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Community Organization) or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 1-2 years of experience in social services, community outreach, or a related field with crime/trauma victims.
  • Valid Driver License.
  • Thorough knowledge of human behavior and social problems.
  • Knowledge of trauma and victims of crime.
  • Knowledge of case management principles and techniques.
  • Skill in public speaking.
  • 10 Vacation Days per year (increasing after 5 years of service)
