Youth Services Assistant
About The Position
The Pulaski County Library is seeking to fill a part-time Youth Services Assistant position. The primary duties of this role include providing library services to preschoolers, school-aged children, and young adults (teens). Responsibilities may include facilitating preschool story times, organizing programs and activities for youth, and coordinating the Summer Reading Program. The Youth Services Assistant will work closely with the Youth Services Librarian to deliver services to the community's youth and will also be responsible for some library circulation duties. This position reports to the Youth Services Coordinator. Work hours are approximately 25 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Some evening work and occasional overnight travel may be required. The hourly rate for this position ranges from $16 to $21, commensurate with education and experience. Educational Requirements: Applicants must possess at least an Associate Degree; a Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Library experience or work experience with children, parents, schools, and daycare centers, as well as knowledge of children's literature, is preferred.
