Requirements

Coursework/training or experience in: social work, criminal justice, counseling and guidance, human development and the family, psychology, behavioral health care, education, social/behavioral sciences, nursing/patient care, delinquency prevention or related area.
Experience leading, coordinating, directing, monitoring and/or supervising others.
Valid driver’s license.
Must be age 21 to work with youth located at YRTC.
This position requires proficiency in English, including the ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend the language effectively.

Nice To Haves

1 year experience with crisis management, adolescent development, and/or verbal de-escalation.

Responsibilities

Supervise a shift of Youth Program Specialists that provide security and maintain control of youth located at our facility.
Ensure expectations of treatment and programming are followed.
Serve as first responder to emergency situations throughout the facility.
Ensure consistency is followed throughout the facility, including scheduling (for staff and youth), and basic facility expectations.
Conduct investigations that reveal information on incidents that have potential to be a security risk to the facility.
Must be able to adapt to unfolding situations and make decisions that provide the best safe outcome for all involved.
Using Handle with Care principles, leads and assists in emergency/crisis situations and notifies appropriate personnel and outside agencies; ensures/maintains a safe, secure and therapeutic
