About The Position

The Youth Program Supervisor position at the Office for People With Developmental Disabilities involves overseeing the Employment Training Program (ETP) for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role includes evaluating applications for program acceptance, conducting interviews, and determining work readiness. The supervisor will collaborate with care managers and provider agencies to ensure eligibility and provide orientation for new participants. Responsibilities also include monitoring service quality, preparing payroll, conducting job readiness classes, and facilitating communication between various stakeholders. The position requires regular visits to job sites and participation in transition fairs to support individuals in their employment journey.

Requirements

  • 5 years of professional experience in a human services program providing vocational/employment-oriented guidance to disadvantaged youth or individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate individual application packets for ETP acceptance and eligibility.
  • Interview applicants and prepare interview summary, determine the applicant's work readiness.
  • Work with care managers, SEMP Provider Agencies, and residential staff to determine eligibility for ETP.
  • Provide orientation and prepare the required employment documents for the applicant to become an OPWDD employee.
  • Provide an ETP orientation to the accepted individuals outlining program requirements.
  • Meet with participants to discuss and outline a career plan for the individual.
  • Monitor provider agencies and the quality and quantity of service provided in ETP.
  • Review and approve the Discovery Report completed by Provider Agencies.
  • Evaluate the work-site placements developed by providers.
  • Prepare and submit payroll by collecting time sheets and calculating the total hours worked.
  • Visit jobsites and meet with employers to determine if the person is meeting the expectations of the business.
  • Conduct regular Job Readiness Classes with the curriculum provided.
  • Schedule quarterly meetings with providers to review services.
  • Provide technical assistance to SEMP and Pathway Providers.
  • Support Central Office staff with reports and information.
  • Work closely with provider agencies to assist people with IDD to develop successful internship experiences.
  • Work closely with school districts to assist in the transition of students from high school to OPWDD adult employment services.
  • Complete regular Progress Reports for everyone in the program.
  • Assist in the development of procedures and policies that shape employment services at OPWDD.
  • Present at Transition Fairs as requested.
  • Perform outreach and training of new SEMP and Pathway providers.
  • Recommend/approve additional SEMP hours for a participant based on need.
  • Utilize the statewide ETP database to assure accurate status of each person in their program.
  • Continually recruit and serve people with intellectual developmental disabilities who would like to obtain employment.
