About The Position

The Houston Gulf Coast Youth Program Supervisor will manage youth workforce programs by supporting career coaching staff, ensuring compliance, and fostering partnerships with schools and youth-serving organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and 3-5 years of relevant leadership experience
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and strong organizational skills
  • Problem solving skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated telephone, computer, and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor require
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite and other required locations
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required

Responsibilities

  • Provide functional leadership to HGCY Career Advisors
  • Build professional one-on-one working relationships with participants to assist in eliminating challenges that are hindrances to obtaining and retaining employment
  • Provide referrals to appropriate community service or social service agencies when needed
  • Provide guidance and support for HGCY Career Advisors to ensure positive outcomes and weekly performance goals are met
  • Facilitate weekly meetings with the HGCY Career Advisors to ensure that best practices are being used and to discuss improvements/goals
  • Provide consistent and comprehensive case management and follow-up
  • Work with the leadership team implementing processes that increase youth engagement, work-based learning opportunities, and available training
  • Coordinate participant retention services and accommodate participant work schedules
  • Provide new employee training for HGCY Career Advisors
  • Develop and maintain relationships with opportunity youth, community leaders, schools, and partner organizations to create a network of referrals
  • Plan and implement outreach strategies to connect with youth who are not currently in education or employment, using culturally relevant approaches and communication methods
  • Organize and facilitate workshops, events, and information sessions to engage opportunity youth and raise awareness of available resources
