About The Position

The Youth Program Group Leader at Wayne Metro Community Action Agency is responsible for implementing a variety of educational, life skills, cultural, and recreational activities for at-risk youth enrolled in before and after-school programs, as well as summer programs. The role focuses on creating a structured and positive environment that fosters learning and personal growth, while also collaborating with agency staff, parents, and school officials to address the specific needs of the youth.

Requirements

• High School Diploma and experience in youth education/programming or a combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of two years of experience in youth education/programming.
• Ability to implement program plans for at-risk youth.
• Ability to interact with parents, teachers, and professionals to address youth needs.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

• Hispanic language proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Implement a program curriculum designed to meet program objectives, including academic education, life skills education, and cultural/recreational activities.
• Work with agency staff to identify educational and personal development needs of youth.
• Participate in meetings with parents and school officials to discuss youth needs.
• Evaluate youth progress at program intervals as directed.
• Assist in recruiting children for program enrollment, including designing promotional materials and making community presentations.
• Participate in meetings related to program design, implementation, and evaluation to ensure goals are met.
• Maintain records consistent with Wayne Metro policies and procedures, and compile data for reports as requested.
• Maintain a positive attitude towards work, clients, and staff, and collaborate effectively with others.
