About The Position
We are currently recruiting for multiple Youth Program Education Assistant I's for all shifts for Whitaker Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) in Butner, NC. Youth Program Education Assistant I's provide direct support and facilitate daily programming activities for intellectually/developmentally disabled teens and young adults who exhibit extreme behavioral challenges. Job duties include but are not limited to: Providing supervision and ensuring safety of individuals, Assisting in educational and/or vocational programming, Facilitating indoor/outdoor leisure activities and encouraging participation, Crisis-intervention which includes de-escalation of aggressive individuals and, at times, physical interventions, Facilitate goals in areas of grooming, hygiene, dining, and residential skills to promote independence, Participate in community outings, Assisting individuals in areas of daily living skills while promoting their independence, Transportation when needed for school, outings, appointment, etc., Writing monthly progress notes for goals and recording of behavior data, Coaching in areas of social skills, community safety awareness, problem solving.
