The Youth Program Administrative Internship at Workforce Solutions Borderplex Inc. is designed for individuals interested in youth development and community engagement. This role supports the NextForce Manager in various administrative tasks, event planning, and program operations, contributing to the organization's mission of fostering youth leadership and professional growth.

  • Assist in creating, designing, and formatting PowerPoint presentations for meetings, training sessions, and public-facing events.
  • Research and gather information to ensure presentations are accurate, relevant, and impactful.
  • Collaborate with the NextForce Manager to align presentations with organizational goals.
  • Help organize and execute events such as youth workshops, conferences, and team-building activities.
  • Assist with logistical arrangements, including venue booking, catering, materials preparation, and event promotion.
  • Coordinate with vendors, partners, and attendees to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Perform general administrative tasks, such as scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and organizing documentation.
  • Support the creation of internal and external communication materials, such as newsletters, event invitations, and announcements.
  • Track project progress and assist the NextForce Manager in meeting deadlines and deliverables.
  • Conduct research on youth leadership trends, potential partners, and relevant industry practices.
  • Contribute to content creation for NextForce's marketing materials, reports, and social media channels.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions on program improvements based on research findings.
  • Work collaboratively with other interns and team members on various projects.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions, providing creative input to improve event planning, outreach efforts, and program content.
  • Communicate effectively with the NextForce Manager and the broader team, providing updates on tasks and addressing any challenges.
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university, or have graduated within the past year, with major coursework in a field relevant to the assignment preferred.
  • Interest in youth development, event planning, and leadership programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Creative thinker with attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in event planning, research, or administrative support is a plus, but not required.
  • Part-time internship with a maximum of 480 hours.
  • Opportunity to gain experience in youth program administration and event planning.
