About The Position

Summary of Position: Provide administrative and pastoral support at the campus (specifically) in the areas of the Gateway Youth ministry. This is a generalist role designed to recruit and develop build team, coordinate weekly services, and help students develop an intimate relationship with God. The youth pastor leads and manages teams to equip the saints for work in ministry. Success in this role includes finding places for people to serve in various ministry areas, discipling others, and developing people to serve with excellence. Principal Job Responsibilities: Pastor, oversee, and lead Gateway Youth ministry at the campus. Develop a culture that reflects the heart of Gateway in youth ministry. Recruit, onboard, train and develop youth serve team. Responsible for preparing sermons and speaking at Wednesday Night services (speaking a minimum of 50% of services each month). Responsible for vetting, developing and selecting guest speakers. Work weekend services at the campus on a rotation determined by the campus pastor. Lead or oversee through coordinator all administrative responsibilities including Coupa, Ministry Safe, Rock- including weekly metrics, the volunteer workflow, building reservations, weekly service agenda, etc.), Limelight, I etc. Serve at all major ministry events at Gateway. Give effective oversight to youth ministry coordinator. Hold monthly meetings with serve team to cast vision and set direction for the ministry. Seek to maintain at minimum a 1 to 10 ratio of serve team volunteers to students. Partner with parents through regular communication (at least monthly). Plan, manage, and execute 3 Gateway Youth campus events annually (Summer Kickoff, Back-to-School Bash and Friendsgiving). Plan, manage, and execute offsite services as often as needed. Build and sustain relationships with local junior high/middle schools and high schools to serve the school, build relationships with students and facilitate ministry on campus. Serve as pastor on call as scheduled. Perform Care duties as necessary in partnership with campus Care teams Manage students’ financial aid requests for both camp and conference. (if applicable) Organize transportation for their students to camp and conference. (if applicable) Partner with the global team and lead mission trips as necessary Participate in meetings with other Youth Pastors has coordinated by the Central youth pastor and respond to Slack messages from Central in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare, develop, and deliver a theologically sound and compelling sermon.
  • Ability to disciple leaders and build a discipleship culture of community and personal growth across the Youth ministry.
  • Ability to communicate vision as well as lead, correct, and encourage a team of volunteers.
  • Strong time-management skills and multitasking ability.
  • Ability to lead and work well within a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with aptitude to operate standard Gateway Staff applications and learn new software systems as necessary.
