About The Position

The youth pastor will oversee FBC's student ministry and work alongside the pastor(s) to oversee the church.

Requirements

• Must meet the biblical qualifications of an elder (1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1).
• Has prior experience in stated ministry (Five years' experience preferred).
• Has theological training.
• Can recruit and develop leaders from the church body to lead/serve.
• Has a desire for evangelism.
• Has a desire to disciple students and families to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
• Can delegate.
• Possesses a strong work ethic.
• Has a shepherd's heart.
• Committed to expository preaching.
• Has a desire to learn.
• Is a clear communicator.
• Is organized.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize daily Bible study and prayer.
• Attend weekly staff and elder meetings.
• Minister to members and guests through notes, emails, calls, visits, hospitality, etc.
• Be present and participate in church-wide events.
• Attend monthly deacon meetings.
• Write monthly newsletter updates with an emphasis on youth activities.
• Preach and teach the congregation on occasion.
• Prepare lessons for and lead weekly night youth group.
• Cultivate relationships with youth group members.
• Organize and lead youth activities.
• Work to incorporate our youth into the church body.
• Give direction to ministries such as children's church and VBS.
• Encourage and equip parents to disciple their children via instruction, resource distribution, etc.
• Organize and lead summer mission and camp.
• Recruit and develop volunteers for the various youth ministries.
