Job Summary: Evaluate students’ abilities, interests, talents, and personality characteristics to develop appropriate academic and career goals. Mentor in a positive way to Choctaw youth. You will report to the Director of Youth Outreach. Location : Durant Schedule : Regular/Full-Time - 8:00am-4:30pm Wage access is an option for this position. Primary Tasks: 1. You will provide personal and group guidance services relative to problems of scholastic, educational, and personal-social nature to students. 2. Suggest remedial or corrective actions and assist students in making better adjustments and in planning intelligent life goals for the future. 3. Prepare and submit monthly reports to Director of Youth Outreach. 4. Manage a caseload of approximately 50 students, meet with students weekly or bi weekly. Conduct follow up meeting with 80% of students. 5. You will follow-up with clients and agencies to document use/success of referral. 6. Advertise the Youth outreach program in the Tribal Newspaper, Health Fairs, and Tribal events. 7. Organize events with other Choctaw Nation Entities for the youth. 8. Knowledgeable of all available resources within the Choctaw Nation and in the Community. 9. Initiate a plan and discuss programs and policies related to social and recreational activities. 10. Perform other tasks as assigned by management. Requirements: · Prior experience in the Social or Community services area with emphasis serving Native Americans · Excellent written and verbal skills , ability to establish reports · Experience working with staff in a team-oriented environment · 3-6 months related experience
