About The Position

The vision of Marrakech Inc. is that each person we serve will live and work in the community and be accepted by their neighbors, co-workers, family, friends and acquaintances for their individual qualities and contributions. SUMMARY The Youth Navigator serves as a primary point of contact for young people accessing the Access Center. This role focuses on building relationships, assessing needs, and connecting young adults to resources that promote stability and independence. The Navigator provides individualized support in housing, education, employment, and wellness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or associate degree in human services, counseling, social work, recreation, the arts, or related fields are preferred.
  • Experience working with people with mental health concerns in a community based day or residential program.
  • A high school diploma/GED and two years of mental health or residential program experience accepted in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

  • Welcomes young adults into the Access Center and creates a safe, supportive environment.
  • Conducts intake appointments, including eligibility assessments and evaluation of current needs.
  • Assesses individual needs and provides access to essential items such as hygiene supplies, clothing, and food to support immediate needs.
  • Links young adults to appropriate support and refers youth to a wide range of internal and external local providers.
  • Facilitates life skills workshops or small group sessions.
  • Advocates for young adults’ needs within the program
  • Responds to crises using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
  • Builds collaborative relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
  • Develop relationships based on trust with young adults, serving as a positive and motivating force.
  • Operate motor vehicles safely and in accordance with State Law (agency and personal automobiles) while on work related duties.
