Youth Music Teachers Needed - Piano and/or Guitar
About The Position
The new instructors will focus on piano and/or guitar instruction, based on their areas of expertise and interest. Students range from age 5 to young adult. Nearly all lessons are in-person at the UpBeat studio, with virtual lessons offered only in special circumstances. Overall duties include: - teach 30-minute and 45-minute individual lessons - teach in group settings when needed - teach theory, technique, performance, and composition - utilize exercises and games to motivate students - conduct ongoing assessments of achievements through formal and informal testing - help to coordinate and support program activities - contribute towards organizing activities, curriculum design, and student / parent feedback This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate musician to make a difference in the lives of youth through music.
Requirements
- proficiency on piano and/or guitar
- strong understanding of music theory
- a passion for working with youth
- formal music education or training
- we are unable to consider self-taught musicians at this time
Nice To Haves
- previous experience in music education, summer camps, or similar settings preferred
- previous teaching experience preferred
