About The Position
As a Youth Mentor at Discovery Ranch for Girls, you will play a crucial role in supporting teenage girls in a therapeutic setting as they navigate their healing journeys. Located near the scenic Three Peaks Recreational Park in Cedar City, Utah, our relationship-based residential treatment center focuses on experiential therapy, which includes activities such as horseback riding, skiing, hiking, and rock climbing. These shared experiences are designed to foster rapport between mentors and students, creating meaningful relationships that are essential to the healing process. The connections formed with mentors often lead to deep and lasting change in the lives of our students, empowering them to overcome adversity and discover their potential. In this position, you will be responsible for providing guidance and support to young women, helping them to build resilience and self-esteem. You will work collaboratively with a team of professionals to create a safe and nurturing environment where students can thrive. The role requires a commitment to maintaining firm and healthy boundaries while being safety-oriented and adaptable to various weather conditions. Your ability to engage in physical activities such as walking, running, lifting, and hiking will be essential as you participate in experiential therapy alongside the students. This position offers both full-time and part-time opportunities, with specific shifts available, including day shifts and weekends. Starting pay is $15.50 per hour, and there are options for temporary summer positions.
