About The Position

About Us: The Summer iWorks Program is a 23-year partnership between the Department of Children and Families (DCF), Communities for People (CFP), and the Moakley Center for Public Management (MCPM). The program empowers youth through mentorship, job readiness training, and paid internships with community partners across Boston. Our mission is to support young people in developing the skills, confidence, and professional experience needed for long-term personal and career success. Summary of Position: The Job Coach plays a critical role in ensuring youth successfully complete the Summer iWorks Program. This position provides individualized coaching, workplace support, and consistent accountability for up to 15 youth participants. The Job Coach serves as a liaison between youth, worksite supervisors, and program partners to promote positive employment experiences and skill development.

Requirements

  • Experience working with youth (ages 14–21), workforce development, or community-based programs preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Reliable, professional, and adaptable.
  • Ability to build rapport and cultivate open dialogue with youth.
  • Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged.
  • Comfortable public transportation within the Boston area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized coaching and support to up to 15 youth (ages 14–21) throughout the 6-week internship.
  • Facilitate and support job readiness workshops including professionalism, communication, resume building, financial literacy, and interview preparation.
  • Assist with program orientation and graduation activities.
  • Conduct weekly one-on-one coaching sessions with assigned youth.
  • Complete bi-weekly site visits within the Boston area to meet with supervisors and evaluate youth performance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for youth during work hours and respond promptly to workplace concerns.
  • Submit weekly written reports summarizing youth progress and identifying any concerns.
  • Evaluate the agency: Are they giving the youth enough work? Enough supervision? Enough guidance? Are they utilizing the youth in an appropriate way? Do they think the youth is moving towards his/her goals?
  • Evaluate the youth: Are they performing to a reasonable standard? Are they working at their scheduled times? Are they completing tasks? Are they acting appropriate? Are they moving towards their goals?
