Position Summary The Youth Intervention Specialist (YIS) Supervisor is responsible for providing 24-hour supervision to program participants and assisting them with their daily activities. The primary responsibilities of this position include direct supervision of the residents and providing appropriate training and guidance to new and existing Youth Workers. Ensures completion of all documentation procedures necessary to monitor the youth’s progress/difficulties while in placement at the shelter, implementing client outings, providing client transport, and answering the 24-hour crisis hot-line (inclusive of inquiries pertaining to crisis intervention, referral services and client intake). Some of the duties include: Provide direct oversight and guidance to the Youth Resiliency Team Provide program orientation to newly hired staff Ensure staff receive ongoing training to adhere to contract deliverables and state standards inclusive of fire-drills, etc. In collaboration with the team, ensure on-call coverage 24 hours/day, 7 days a week Serve as “back-up” for various activities related to the youth program’s goals for youth, meetings, etc. Act as an agency designee for “responsible and prudent parenting” decisions for youth enrolled in the program Provide crisis support to team as necessary Report promptly to the Program Director any unusual issues, concerns, personnel issues, emergencies, etc. Assist Program Director in writing/revising policies, letters, job descriptions, educational materials, evaluations for staff, as needed Participate in weekly team meetings to receive and/or share relevant information and communication Compile and track compliance data for required agency reporting Ensure that all living units meet applicable safety codes Maintain a safe and healthy environment for all staff, residents, and visitors and that safety policies are followed, and trauma-informed practices are met.
