The YMCA is seeking a Program Instructor who specializes in the art of Drumlines for our high school after school enrichment club programs. The YMCA is partnering with Northridge Academy High School to provide after school enrichment programs, such as flag football, music, photography, media arts, cooking, etc. The school has recently purchased drumline drums and a drum kit, in hopes of partnering with the YMCA to create a school drumline. In this role, the Program Instructor would work closely with the after school coordinator (supervisor) to provide an after school drumline club for high school students, grades 9th-12th. The hope is that the drumline can eventually develop enough skill to perform at home games, half-time shows, prep rallies and other school events. This is an exciting new position at the YMCA in support of our high school initiatives. This position is a seasonal position for the winter/spring semester of the school year (January-May, 2025). There are opportunities to continue the program during the fall 2025 school year as well. As an Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons in an after school program for high school students, teaching students skills in the art of drumline drumming. The after school program would run 3 days a week for 90 minutes. Days are negotiable. Drums and drum kits are provided. Maintain drum and ensure equipment is used responsibly, safely and respectfully by students.
