About The Position

About the Utah Olympic Oval Built in 2001 for the Salt Lake 2002 Winter Olympic Games, the Utah Olympic Oval houses Utah’s only 400-meter speed skating oval, two international sized ice sheets, and a state-of-the-art four lane 442-meter running track. Today, it is a dynamic multi-use facility focused on developing and growing participation in ice sports in Utah. As a part of the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation, our mission is to cultivate champions in sport and in life, deliver experiences that inspire communities, and celebrate our Olympic Legacy for years to come. About the role As the Youth Administrator, you will partner with the Hockey Programs Manager oversee and administer the youth hockey league program.

Requirements

• Computer proficient (Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Detail oriented with proven organizational skills
• Experience successfully managing internal and external relationships
• Self-starter attitude. Ability to work with little supervision once general direction has been given
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently
• Must be able to consistently meet deadlines and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness
• Ice arena knowledge preferable
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to function as a team player.
• Strong planning and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Program supervision
• Support Hockey Manager in promoting the youth hockey program
• Send out registration email and monitor registrations for team sizes
• Roster teams to be approved by the state
• Confirm player eligibility with USA Hockey
• Order the jerseys for youth hockey program
• Confirm players are registered in Bond
• Obtain coaches and player credentials for USA hockey approval
• Schedule games and practices for the youth development program
• Schedule officials and scorekeepers for games and follow up as necessary with any changes or building closures
• Be actively engaged in the state board and UTHL meetings
• Maintain contact information for current players as well as the substitute goalie lists for each division
• Engage with families to communicate details of program and respond to questions via call, text, and email
• Actively communicate with managers, players/families, and new inquiries in all leagues and divisions
• Keep informed of schedule changes, building closures, and league business
• Field calls, texts, and emails regarding league and player issues, complaints, and requests
• Assist with parent/coach meetings
• Arrange and attend any disciplinary hearings
• Distribute USA disciplinary emails to correct recipients
• Assist and facilitate in gear rental for Learn to Play program
• Communication with Ops department ensure needs for games are met (i.e. Jamboree-Pads, early start times, etc.)
• Ensure guest services is aware and taking care of locker room needs
• Conduct scorekeeping trainings for parents
• Assist with Angel Hands Charity Tournament with Hockey Manager
• Assist with draft party
• Help arrange scorekeepers
• Assist with distribution and collection of tournament jerseys
• Participate in set up and take down
• Assist in events held by the Legacy Foundation when needed
• Support and help with World Cup events
• Complete all required in-house training.
• All other job responsibilities as assigned.
