Requirements

  • Ability to use typical business software and office equipment.
  • Understanding of the role of volunteerism within the YMCA.
  • Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • College Degree in related field or equivalent preferred.
  • One to two years related experience preferred, as a coordinator of people or related activity.

Responsibilities

  • Support planning and coordination of a program and its activities.
  • Works with director to determine current needs for program.
  • Ensure implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Maintain budget and track expenditures/transactions.
  • Manage communication through media relations, social media, etc
  • Schedule and organize meetings/events and maintain agenda.
  • Support growth and program development.
  • Organizes and oversees program activities and events.
  • Recruits and coordinates volunteers from the local community.
  • Coordinates and monitors teen summer camps.
  • Organizes, and conducts leaders clubs and other teen activities and events.
  • Secures facilities for program activities and events.
  • Directs and assists in coordination of day camp programs. Ensures high quality programs and implements program enhancements and initiatives.
  • Ensure all components of the day camp program are implemented and followed by day camp staff team.
  • Ensure programs operate within provided budget.
  • Maintains proper records and files at all times.
  • Assures compliance with federal, state and local regulations, including ADA accommodations where appropriate
  • Ensures YMCA camp program standards are met and safety procedures followed
  • Provides for upkeep and safety of assigned program facilities and equipment. Ensure physical environment supports healthy living.
  • Develops and maintains positive, genuine relationships with state authorities, families and community agencies.
  • Manages, directs and coordinates the child care programs for assigned location(s). Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities. Expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
  • Develops, manages and controls budgets related to the position. Ensures program operates within budget and that program fees are collected. Supports and budgets for healthy eating through coaching, mentoring, and monitoring menu quality
  • Assures compliance with federal, state and local regulations as they relate to program areas, including ADA accommodations where appropriate. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed.
  • Provides for upkeep of assigned program facilities and equipment and ensures the physical environment supports healthy living.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with state child care licensing agency, school administration, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to assigned programs. Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Provides staff leadership for annual fund raising campaign and committees as assigned.
  • Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program.
  • Direct and supervise all staff and their responsibilities.
  • Compose scheduling for childwatch attendants
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and experiences.
  • Responsible for ensuring the safety of all children.
  • Ensure the individual needs of the children are met
  • Ensure proper coordination of the program.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
