About The Position

Under the direction of the Youth Development Director, the Youth Enrichment Instructor is responsible for class leadership to promote developmental skills to program members in a safe, professional, and caring manner while assisting them in working towards positive self-image and personal growth.

Requirements

Minimum 16 years of age.
Previous experience working with children.
Possess good knowledge of preschool and youth child development, basic movement activities and age-appropriate learning activities.
The ability to interact with children at their cognitive level.

Responsibilities

Plans class activities that are age appropriate and contribute to the personal growth and self-esteem of the participants.
Maintains a safe and orderly environment, including housekeeping duties, set up and take down of classroom.
Implements lesson plans with fun and enthusiasm while interacting with children at their level and providing an enriching experience for participants.
Problem solves issues, concerns, incidents, and reports to supervisor with possible solutions.
Greets and communicates with parents, keeps all interactions positive and is sensitive to the feelings of children and parents.
Prepared and ready to teach prior to the start of class.
When necessary, finds a sub and provides all lesson plans.
Performs other duties as assigned.
