As an AmeriCorps member, you’ll be part of a national movement dedicated to service, leadership, and community empowerment. What You’ll Do As a Youth Education & Enrichment Specialist, you’ll bring learning to life through engaging activities that support: Academic success Character & Leadership Healthy lifestyles Social Recreation The Arts You’ll create fun, supportive learning environments that spark curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and help youth discover their strengths.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Able to pass background check, fingerprinting, and drug screening
  • A passion for youth and a heart for service
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Flexible availability, including some evenings and weekends

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead creative educational and enrichment activities for youth ages 7–18
  • Support homework help, group projects, and hands-on learning experiences
  • Facilitate High-Yield Learning Activities (HYLA) that are interactive and engaging
  • Encourage positive school attendance, engagement, and academic confidence
  • Track attendance and help implement strategies to keep youth connected and involved
  • Build meaningful relationships and serve as a positive role model for Club members
