About The Position

The YMCA of Orange County is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We are actively seeking highly engaged, intentional, and service-oriented individuals for Part-time Youth Development Staff positions. This role is an opportunity to directly impact the lives of children and families by fostering genuine connections, practicing exceptional hospitality, and creating a safe, positive, and enriching environment where every interaction is meaningful. Location: Theses positions are in the West Covina area. Staff must be willing and able to drive in between West Covina schools as needed. Work Schedule: 1:30pm to 6pm Monday through Friday Purpose & Impact: Be a Mentor: Guide children (ages 5-12) through curriculum-aligned activities (STEM, arts, homework). Practice Intentionality: Provide attentive service, warmth, and a welcoming environment for all participants and parents. Model Core Values: Uphold Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility daily. Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 18+ years old.
  • Experience: 6 months experience working with children preferred in an after-school, camp, or daycare setting.
  • Education Requirements: 48 college units or passing proficiency exam prior to hire for (non-licensed/ASES programs).
  • Required Documents: Please upload transcripts when applying.
  • Staff must be willing and able to drive in between West Covina schools as needed.
  • Once a conditional offer is made, candidates will be subject to criminal background check, drug screen, and will be asked to provide criminal history. Criminal history will be analyzed on a case by case basis as it related to the position.
  • YMCA of Orange County participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S.
