The Youth Development Program Manager provides direction and leadership for youth and teen programs that foster the educational, social, emotional, and physical development of young people. The manager oversees the implementation of programs and initiatives designed to ensure every participant has access to a world-class learning experience that prepares each for success in college, career, and civic life. The role involves supporting the development and implementation of strategies and processes that create a clear and concise pathway to program enrollment and outcomes metrics. The manager will work closely with staff, community partners, and stakeholders to create impactful youth services, leading a team dedicated to delivering high-quality services that are accessible, engaging, and effective in meeting the diverse needs of the youth community.

  • Manage and supervise program staff, interns, and volunteers.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of youth services staff and volunteers.
  • Develop processes, tools, and techniques used to advance desired organizational outcomes.
  • Plan, develop, implement and monitor programs, goals and objectives.
  • Create, implement, and report on interim and annual goals, objectives, and deadlines.
  • Maintain a diverse array of high-quality, evidence-based, and culturally responsive curricular and programmatic resources.
  • Collaborate with Senior Director of Youth Services to develop, implement and report on quality metrics/evaluations of program services.
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and other essential documents and correspondence as required by funding sources.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures for maintenance of confidentiality of data.
  • Participate in grant funding applications to the appropriate agencies.
  • Collaborate with Development team for fundraising opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, schools, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular meetings with staff, interns, and volunteers.
  • Manage the financial resources of the program(s) to accomplish the program objectives.
  • Participate in the development and management of the program budget.
  • Oversee monitoring and maintenance of records inputted by the team.
  • Coordinate with marketing and communications department for new and updated marketing materials.
  • Supervise and guide program staff, including planning and evaluating functional activities.
  • Participate in hiring, performance reviews, and documentation of all personnel actions.
  • Participate in annual program self-assessment.
  • Participate in the community needs assessment process.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in youth development with at least 2 years of direct youth facilitation experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing staff and volunteers in a diverse and dynamic environment.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing successful youth programs.
  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience working in family services in a nonprofit social-services setting.
