About The Position

The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Minnesota is to do whatever it takes to empower all youth to reach their full potential. The Youth Development Professional will plan and lead a variety of activities within specific program areas such as Academic Success, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, Outdoor/Environment, and Physical Education. The starting rate for this position is $15.00/hour, with potential opportunities for advancement based on experience, performance, and tenure.

Requirements

• Ability to relate well with children in a group environment.
• Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and mobile when supervising groups of children.
• Awareness of safety procedures for fire, tornado, lock down, etc.
• Knowledge of Boys & Girls Club/KIDSTOP policies and adherence to them.
• Responsible for care and maintenance of program equipment, supplies, and facility.

Nice To Haves

• One to three months of experience working with children preferred.

• Provides guidance and role modeling to members.
• Maintains a safe, positive atmosphere for all youth.
• Exhibits a warm, concerned attitude toward youth.
• Effectively plans and leads programs, services, and a variety of activities for members.
• Communicates effectively with staff and children of all ages.
• Completes program planners in a timely manner with new, fun, and inviting program ideas.
