The Youth Development Professional is responsible for planning and conducting activities which provide developmental experiences for children such as Education/Academic Enhancement, Social Recreation, Arts & Craft, Healthy Lifestyles, Leadership, Outdoor/Environmental Awareness, and Physical Education. This position is responsible for the health, safety, and personal welfare of assigned children. This position reports to the Suuk Yap (Teen Center) Site Manager. This position supports the CIN Mission, Vision, and Goals by being an important part of a team that gives tribal children continued care in a healthy safe environment. This position is responsible to and subject to the CIN Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Create an environment that promotes and stimulates program participation Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes Effectively implement and administer programs, services, and activities for teens (ages 11-18) Monitor and evaluate programs and activities to ensure the safety of members and quality of care. Ensure a productive and safe environment by participating in staff meetings and trainings as required. Promote physical, mental, and social development Observe children’s interactions to maintain safety Assist in maintaining order and tracking of children throughout their day at the center Performs other duties as assigned
