About The Position

HELP OUR YOUTH HAVE A GREAT FUTURE! Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington is seeking a year-round Youth Development Professional Gym Lead! Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be 18 years old or older
  • Must pass a national criminal background check, a social security verification, a local criminal background check, and a national sex offender registry check.
  • This role requires physical activity, including standing, moving, and bending.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with youth is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead activities that are fun, age-appropriate, and inclusive.
  • Align activities with program goals and outcome areas.
  • Use conflict resolution and restorative practices to manage behavior.
  • Support youth in developing problem-solving skills.
  • Provide consistent encouragement and positive reinforcement.
  • Model respectful, responsible, and professional behavior.
  • Supervise youth at all times to ensure safety and engagement.
  • Set and maintain clear behavioral expectations.
  • Complete documentation accurately and on time.
  • Keep program areas clean, organized, and ready for the next day.
  • Help maintain shared Club spaces.
  • Collaborate with fellow Youth Development Professionals, volunteers, and Club Management to deliver high-quality programming.
  • Work directly with youth in grades 1 through 5 to support positive development and engagement.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and program quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Club Management.
