About The Position

The Youth Development Instructor at Scholars Unlimited is responsible for conducting site-based extended learning and enrichment programs for K-5 students in public elementary schools. This role focuses on planning and implementing engaging activities that foster academic, social, and emotional growth in young learners. The instructor will work directly with students to create a positive and safe learning environment, ensuring adherence to child care regulations and best practices.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age as per Colorado child care licensing rules.
• At least 3 months of verifiable experience with school-aged children (ages 5-12).
• Current CPR/First Aid certificate or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Completion of all child care licensing certifications within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to work scheduled program hours and pass criminal history background checks.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual in Spanish is desired.
• Experience developing and implementing project-based units for elementary-age students.
• Experience in basic classroom management.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere to students.
• Plan and implement enrichment projects and recreational activities for K-5 students.
• Prepare lesson plans and lead activities for small groups of up to 15 students.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment.
• Manage multiple tasks for students in various settings, including classrooms and off-site centers.
• Attend all training and staff meetings.
• Adhere to Colorado child care licensure rules and regulations.
