About The Position
The Department of Human Services (DHS), Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services (BJJS), is seeking a hardworking, enthusiastic, compassionate, and caring manager who is committed to providing services that directly affect the lives of court-adjudicated youth. This position will be located at our newest facility, the Southeast Youth Development Center (YDC) in Montgomery County. As a Youth Development Counselor Manager, you will plan, organize, and direct residential care and treatment, as well as the social development and rehabilitation programs for adjudicated youth housed at the facility. You will oversee a safe, secure, clean, and comfortable environment in accordance with institutional and DHS policies and regulations. You will direct two treatment units through the supervision of two YDC supervisors, developing goals and objectives, reviewing and evaluating work, in order to ensure the planning and coordination of overall programming, supervision, cost efficiency and treatment undertaken in the units; and that quality childcare services are provided.
