About The Position

Do you love connecting with people and sharing your passion with others? We are looking for a Youth Dance Instructor to join our team at the Y for our
YMCA Dance Academy! We spend our days positively impacting the community around
us. We help members reach their potential, enact goals, and we change lives in
our Y community.

Requirements

• 18+ years of age or older
• Experienced with children ages 3-14
• Former dance training and education
• Experienced in teaching Jazz, Tap, and/or Ballet
• Have a willingness to work with children
• Have strong communication skills
• Weekend availability and Weeknight Subbing

Responsibilities

• Leading fun, safe, and educational dance classes
• Ensuring that classes are executed to meet the needs of appropriate ages and skill levels
• Developing relationships with participants and parents
• The Youth Dance Instructor must be experienced in teaching one or all of the following styles Jazz, Tap, and/or Ballet to students ages 3-14
• They will teach the dancers the developmental skills and technique required from our age appropriate syllabus, as well as preparing them for a performance at the end of each session
